Colleen Kelly

Assistant Director

Colleen Kelly supports SICI’s mission by empowering students to advance solutions to the world’s most pressing social problems, and manages the Cheng Fellowship program for social innovators and the Social Innovation Studio.  Colleen executed the launch of a pilot version of the Fellowship in 2015 and works collaboratively with SICI’s Leadership Team to set strategy, design, and implement social innovation activities. Previously, Colleen supported research and educational efforts in global philanthropy at HKS’ Hauser Institute for Civil Society, including an executive program for nonprofit leaders. While at Hauser, she co-authored, From Prosperity to Purpose, a report that explores philanthropic giving and social investment among high net worth individuals and families in six Latin American countries.

Before joining Harvard, Colleen was a Program Associate at The Philanthropic Initiative, where she coordinated activities of New England International Donors, a regional affinity group of donors working to change the world through their philanthropy. She has worked internationally for Mujer y Comunidad (Nicaragua), La Esperanza Granada (Nicaragua), and as an intern at UK Parliament. Colleen received her B.A. from Northeastern University in International Affairs and Political Science and her Ed.M. in International Education Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
